Best tolerated magnesium supplement

Contents

400g magnesium lactat powder

One 2.5 cc scoop contains 2.2 g magnesium lactate, corresponding to 220 mg of elementary magnesium (58% Recommended Daily Allowance).

Dosage

Mix 1 scoop with water, juice or sports drink. Take 1 serving daily after training or with dinner or at bed time. Dietary supplements should not be considered as substitute for a healthy diet.

Ingredients

Magnesium lactate

The ideal magnesium supplement in powder form

We searched for a long time for the ideal form of magnesium to use as a dietary supplement. Every form of magnesium has its pros and cons. Factors such as taste, tolerability, bioavailability, and price all play a role.

The only 'drawback' of magnesium lactate is that, due to its relatively lower magnesium content per gram, it is less suitable for use in capsules. More capsules are needed to reach the desired magnesium intake. However, for use as a powdered supplement, magnesium lactate is ideal. Its lower magnesium content of 10% (compared to, for example, 60% for magnesium oxide and 16% for magnesium citrate) is not relevant in powder form. One scoop of magnesium lactate already provides more than half of the recommended daily intake of magnesium.

Distinctive features of ‘Magnesium Lactate’ by Power Supplements

  • Contains no additives
  • Cost-effective in use
  • Neutral taste (not sour like magnesium citrate or magnesium malate, and not metallic like magnesium glycinate)

Functions of magnesium

Magnesium is a mineral involved in many processes in the body. Among other things, magnesium contributes to:

  • Reduction of mental and physical fatigue
  • Normal energy production
  • Normal functioning of the nervous system
  • A proper electrolyte balance
  • Normal muscle function
  • Normal protein synthesis
  • Maintenance of normal bones and teeth
  • Cell division
  • Normal psychological function

Combining magnesium with other supplements

The role magnesium plays in normal muscle function makes it an excellent combination with creatine.

Timing and method of intake

Magnesium can be taken at any time of the day, either on an empty stomach or with meals.

Tip: Use magnesium lactate after physical exercise. Many people already notice benefits from taking 100 to 250 mg of magnesium after working out. One scoop of magnesium lactate powder provides 220 mg of magnesium and can easily be mixed with a sports drink, protein shake, or water after exercise.
